Imagine an iceberg. You can see the iceberg on the surface of the water and it looks so big. It’s almost like a small island, but when you go underneath the surface of the water, you realise that the iceberg goes down miles. It is even bigger than you thought and all this time you thought that the iceberg was floating on the water.

Think of this iceberg as your mind. The part that is floating and in clear view is your conscious mind. This is the part of your mind that you think with. This is the analytical, logical part of your mind. When you think about something, you are using your conscious mind. This part of the iceberg is above the water, so it’s fairly easy to see even though it’s only a small fraction of the whole mass.

A lot of people think that their conscious mind is all that they have. They don’t realise that their mind is much, much bigger than the part they can see. The part of the iceberg that is underneath the surface of the water, and is the majority of the iceberg, is the subconscious mind. This is the part of the mind that truly controls everything in your life. From your tiniest belief to your biggest one, everything is controlled by your subconscious mind.

Just like the part of the iceberg that is under that water controls the centre of gravity of the iceberg, your subconscious mind controls the way your conscious mind thinks and the way that your life is going to be.

A whopping 95% of our brain activity and our life is controlled by the subconscious mind. Your conscious mind only controls 5% of your life. Can you believe the impact your subconscious has on you? What you think is your entire life, all your logical analytical thinking, is only 5% of the whole picture. 95% of the iceberg lies under the water. It would truly change our lives if we focus more on the subconscious mind and healing that part of us for the better.
